Convergència has given way to the new Partit Demòcrata Català through a process of catharsis that has served to transform, in the last 48 hours, rigid structures into a flexible system that gives more power to the militants. Members will have more say in structures and their voices will be heard at all levels. At present, the basic outline of the party has been laid down but still to come is the structure and the election of those who will be the party's public faces. That will be decided on July 23 but until then, the period of transition will be closely scrutinised.
